# Configuring MySQL or MariaDB per user in OpenPanel

|
When creating a user, you can set mysql type to be used:
|
|
|
|
- MySQL
|
|
- MariDB
|
|
|
|
Users also have an option *Change MySQL Type* that allows them to switch form one type to another.
