6dfc568ec2 feat(web): author agent presets from a settings page
A composition is a file, but "edit it on the filesystem" is not a browser
affordance. The roster gains `read`/`write`/`remove` beside `select`, and
the browser gains a settings section over them: the presets as rows, one
composition open in a YAML editor at a time, and per-row default, duplicate,
and delete.

All four authoring methods are loopback-pinned. A composition names the
plugins a session runs, so reading one is reconnaissance, writing one is
arbitrary capability, and selecting one can move a session onto a preset
that edits the live runtime. `agentPreset.list` deliberately stays ordinary
and now reports `authorable`, so a surface knows whether creating is
possible at all rather than offering a button whose save always fails.

Authoring starts by duplicating: a shipped preset opens read-only because
the deployment's copy is what a broken local one is compared against. Ids
are contained before they become directory names, and the text is parsed
with the loader's own schema, so a save cannot leave a file no session
could load.

Fixes a defect the real-composition test found: a preset written under the
user's home could never mount, because the loader resolves a row against the
composition's own directory and Node's `node_modules` walk from there never
reaches the installed harness. The mount now records the host base and sends
bare specifiers there, leaving relative paths resolving from the preset.

Also closes the coverage the earlier surfaces in this stack shipped without —
the General row, the composer seat, and the plugin halves now have tests.

a2ab09003f feat(web): pick a session's agent preset from the composer
A seat in the composer tool row, left of the model select, showing the preset
THIS session runs — its own recorded one, not the deployment default, because a
resumed session runs what it was created with. `SessionSummary` carries
`agentPreset` for that, alongside `cwd` and `origin`.

The switch exists only while the conversation has not started. After the first
turn the seat becomes a plain label rather than a disabled menu: a greyed
control reads as "temporarily unavailable", when in fact the choice is gone for
good. The seat never asks in that state, and the host refuses independently
with `agent-preset-locked`, so a stale client cannot slip one past it.

A rejected switch restores the previous value and surfaces the host's message
rather than leaving the seat showing something the session is not running.

6758da87ae feat(web): choose the default agent preset from General settings
One settings row picking which preset new sessions are composed from.

It is deliberately a new-session preference, not a live switch: a session's
preset is fixed at creation and the host refuses to adopt an existing session
under a different one, so the row says "applies to sessions you start from now
on" rather than implying it can retune a running agent.

Options and the current value come from one `agentPreset.list` call — the
roster already reports which id an unspecified session gets, so the row needs
no settings-schema introspection, unlike the permission row it is modelled on.
The write targets only the namespace's `default` field.

The menu marks `user` rows: a locally authored preset is exactly as privileged
as the plugins it names, and presenting it identically to a shipped one would
hide that.

An empty roster reads as `unavailable` and renders nothing, because composing
no presets is a valid deployment rather than a failure — distinct from a
roster call that failed, which surfaces its message.

ecee93ec26 feat(llm): interrogate a draft provider endpoint for its models
Once a pi-ai route became a declaration rather than a catalog lookup,
adding an OpenAI-compatible gateway meant knowing its model ids up
front. Most such endpoints publish that list at `GET /models`, but no
seam operation could ask: every one is keyed by a registered provider
route, and the provider being added has no route, no stored profile,
and no stored credential — the endpoint and key are values in a form.

Interrogation is therefore keyed by settings namespace, which a
configuration surface already holds from the configurable-provider
directory. `registerModelDiscovery` offers it per namespace,
`discoverModels` asks, and the request carries the draft itself. The
reply is candidates, not a catalog: every field but the id is optional
because most listings disclose nothing else, and adopting one is a
settings write like any other. Nothing here reads or writes settings or
credentials, so `settings.yaml` still decides what a route serves.

`llm.discoverModels` carries the same draft over the wire. Its apiKey is
the third and last payload a secret may ride, and it is never stored,
logged, or echoed; every refusal folds into `model-discovery-failed`,
naming the endpoint asked but never the credential offered.

The pi-ai side is a plain GET for OpenAI-compatible protocols only —
their listing shape is the one gateways, self-hosted servers, and the
official endpoints agree on. Others say so, sending the user to
hand-entry rather than reporting a guessed shape as an empty provider.
The reply is read under a four-megabyte ceiling held on the bytes
actually received, because the endpoint is a URL the user typed.

c764ed7e64 feat(client-runtime): project the archive set and the archiveSession action
WorkspaceListState gains archivedSessionIds (ReadonlySet, replaced only
on membership change), installed as full snapshots from the list
baseline, the unary echo, and the changed frame. Archiving the current
session clears the selection into the New Session view state. Test
doubles (test-runtime, fake APIs, fixture client) follow the widened
IWorkspaces/IApiClient faces.

e6483f0afc feat(settings): detect stale writers with a revision, and announce raw changes
The remaining P1 from the #939 review, plus the P2 it shares a mechanism with.

Nothing carried a version, so two tabs editing one namespace silently
overwrote each other — reproduced as tab B's `reasoning` lost to tab A's
older draft. The seam's per-namespace write queue orders writes; it cannot
tell a fresh writer from one replaying a snapshot a predecessor superseded.

Each namespace now carries a monotonic `revision` over its RAW section. A
write may send `expectedRevision`, checked at the FRONT of the queue (not at
call time, which would race the very predecessor it guards against); a
mismatch rejects with `SettingsConflictError` → `settings-conflict` on the
wire, carrying both revisions. The editor captures the revision it opened at
and, on conflict, asks the user to reopen rather than replaying its snapshot.

The same counter fixes the missing broadcast. `settings/updated` is gated on
the resolved value — correct for consumers, wrong for configuration surfaces:
storing an override equal to the composition base leaves the resolved value
alone while changing what the document says (the field is now overridden, not
inherited) and moving every open editor's revision. `settings/document-updated
(ns, revision)` fires on any raw-section change, in-process or external, and
`host/settings-changed` now rides it.

That event also closes the stale model picker: editing a provider's `models`
changes no route, so `llm/adapters-updated` never fired and an open picker
kept serving the old catalog. A change to an exposed provider namespace now
emits `host/models-changed` too — that namespace holds the catalog.

Docs: both sides of the five touched README pairs, a type-equiv block for
`SettingsPathOp`, and an Agent Note recording what the plane exposes and who
may overwrite what. The deferred wire-redaction gaps (secrets behind
union/intersection/transform, `.default(...)` in the served envelope, schema
text in rejection messages, `new Function` rehydration, pi-ai's `headers`) are
recorded as TODO(settings-wire-redaction) and in Known Limitations rather than
half-fixed.

9f996be8e3 fix(web-config): close the wire boundary, the redacted-replace data loss, and three P2s
Five findings from the #939 review, each reproduced before being fixed.

**Configuration reads are as privileged as writes.** `settings.describe`
returns every exposed namespace's configuration and `credentials.describe`
reports whether an arbitrary environment-variable name is configured and from
where — reconnaissance no anonymous caller should have. Both join
PRIVILEGED_METHODS, so the whole configuration plane is loopback-only until
real authentication exists; `trustedHosts` was never authentication. The model
catalog stays reachable: it carries no endpoints or key state, and a LAN
client's model picker legitimately needs it. Asserted over a real HTTP server,
because the Host header a browser actually sends is what decides this.

**The proxy serves only namespaces a registered model provider addresses.**
The settings seam is general — any plugin may register one — but the Web
configuration plane is the model-provider surface. Without the gate, every
future `settings.register()` would silently become remotely readable and
writable configuration. An unregistered namespace and an unexposed one answer
identically, so no caller can enumerate the registry one probe at a time.

**Path-addressed writes replace the redacted-document rebuild.** The editor
reads the REDACTED descriptor, so rebuilding a section from it and replacing
wholesale deleted every literal secret the wire never returned — reproduced as
`{baseURL, reasoning}` in, stored `apiKey` gone out. `settings.mutate` applies
set/unset ops to the section as it stands at the front of the seam's write
queue, and the client names only fields it can see, so an unseen secret is
untouched by construction rather than by care.

P2s in the same pass: `llm/adapters-updated` now contains async listener
rejections (an uncontained one escaped as unhandledRejection, contradicting
the documented "observer failures are contained"); llm-deepseek's retry-policy
swap uses the atomic `registration.replace` instead of dispose-then-register,
which published `[]` then `["deepseek-official"]` so an observer saw the
provider disappear and come back; and a transport rejection no longer strands
the page in `loading` or a card in `busy`, with removal failures surfaced on
the page banner instead of swallowed.

61163b7da5 Merge remote-tracking branch 'origin/master' into codex/basic-session-search
Conflict resolutions:

- `session.list`: master's projection columns fold into the PR's cancellable,
batched `listVisibleSessionSummaries`, which `session.search` shares as its
visibility baseline; master's goal helpers stay beside it.
- Client sessions face: master narrowed `ctx.sessions` to `ISessions`, so the
search verb and its protocol-constant bound are declared there and the
test-runtime double implements them (recorded, empty page unless a scenario
  stubs hits).
- `WorkspaceBrowser`: master's per-row Rename wiring rides the PR's search
results view; the tree keeps the PR's query-free derivations.
- `dsh web` bin: the PR's shutdown-handlers-before-readiness order with
  master's boot-time LAN address snapshot.
- `session-query-sqlite`: master's `SCHEMA_VERSION` 7 stands; the PR's bump
  carried no schema change.
- Specs: master wraps assistant/steering message payloads and requires an
`application/json` carrier request, so the search fixtures and tests follow.
- Web aria goldens keep master's recording plus the PR's search placeholder;
the navigation-panes inventory keeps master's terminal-card golden next to
  the PR's search-results golden.

191067559e feat(apiproxy): settings/credentials/llm wire domains, frames, and write guard
Eight compiler-locked methods: settings.describe/update/replace serve
redacted layered namespace views (secrets structurally absent from every
layer, write-only in the update direction) and fold seam refusals into
settings-rejected; credentials.describe/set/unset expose value-free views
with credential-rejected on shadowed writes; llm.providers merges the
configurable directory with live routes and llm.models claims the
host-scoped catalog reservation through the buildModelCatalog extraction
session.models now shares. Three HostFrame invalidations bridge the seam
events (host/settings-changed, host/credentials-changed,
host/models-changed), and the connection route generalizes the native-
dialog check into a privileged-method set covering all four writes. The
fixture and both fake clients grow the same face.

ff049f1e82 feat(client): ISession.rename settles the title projection cell from the response
rename is a per-session verb on the outward session face (prompt/cancel
precedent), not a list-service verb: the Session calls session.rename and
applies the response {title, seq} to its projection store under
higher-seq-wins, so the list row updates before the push frame. The fixture
api and the test-runtime double follow the same face.

fee12f1af0 refactor(llm-deepseek)!: rename the provider route to deepseek-official
The native adapter's route was named deepseek, colliding with pi-ai's
catalog provider of the same name, so the two DeepSeek paths could never
be mounted side by side. The web settings page needs both configurable at
once. Compositions, fixtures, goldens, scaffolding defaults, and docs all
move together (pre-release, no shim); TUI/session-query-spill/
missing-credential goldens re-recorded through their keyless refresh
modes because provider-name length shifts box padding and spill
truncation points.

5245182db2 fix(host): bound listDirectory levels at a configurable maxEntries
One list call now materializes at most maxEntries child rows (config,
default 1000 - GitHub's web-UI directory-listing bound). Candidates sort
before probing so a cut level keeps the name-sorted head and symlink
probing stops with the bound, and DirectoryListing carries a required
truncated flag on the seam and the wire so clients can state
incompleteness instead of silently missing tail entries.

85ca8be104 feat(host, client): compose directory picking through slots — dual-face -native, no wire advertisement
ui-workspace's two trigger surfaces each declare a single-kind directory-flow
hole (conversation.hero.workspace.directoryFlow / sidebar.workspaces.directoryFlow,
same owner contract) and keep only the trigger and the adoption: the Open-local-
folder entry renders while the surface's hole is occupied, and the occupant
reports one picked path per open through the hole's owner conversation
(open/busy/onPicked/onCancel/onError).

directory-picker-native becomes dual-face: its browser half fills both holes
with a renderless occupant driving host.pickDirectory, so the cordis.yml row
that mounts the backend also composes the client interaction — a mismatch is
impossible and a second flow package fails at client load.

With composition wiring both sides, the host.describe.directoryPicker
advertisement and the client's kind branching lose their last consumer:
the field, WorkspacesService.directoryPickerKind(), the DirectoryPickerKind
wire type, and the picker's per-open describe read are deleted. The connection
fixture now serves a deterministic pickDirectory path so the keyless snapshot
drives the full pick-then-adopt flow. ui-workspace's hand-rolled declaration
deferral is replaced by the deferRegistration helper it duplicated.

1c2923c84f feat(web): re-land the goals wire domain as mutation-only ref acknowledgements
Six mutation RPCs (create/edit/pause/resume/complete/clear) move into
dsh-host-apiproxy (the PR's host/runtime carrier is gone): goalService()
resolves ctx.get('goals') with a loud absence error, mutateGoal() resolves
the session's agent (agentFor, the command.* implicit-resume precedent) and
acknowledges with the new CAS ref only. GoalError codes ride err.details.

goal.get and the wire GoalView/goalViewSchema are gone: the read side is the
'goal' session projection (whole values on the history tail page and
session/projection frames), so responses never feed client state — the rule
whose absence forced the original PR's write-revision fences.

cbab62bdea Merge origin/master into goal-ui: adopt the rewritten client core and apiproxy carrier
Conflict rulings follow the projection-reattach plan:
- host/runtime package (deleted on master): take master; the PR's boot
composition moves to the cordis.yml roster and its goals handlers will be
re-landed in dsh-host-apiproxy; the session.prompt slash interception and
its spec are dropped entirely (superseded by command.execute + command/run
  logging).
- client core (rewritten on master): take master; the PR's Session goal
fields/methods, ConversationSnapshot.goal, goalActions injection, and the
hard-mounted GoalBar are all superseded by the 'goal' session projection
(useProjection) and will return as the ui-goal plugin.
- wire contract: union of master's workspace/command/skill domains and the
PR's goal domain, minus goal.get (the read side is the projection block +
session/projection frames; six mutation RPCs stay).
- GoalBar component and spec leave ui-conversation (they re-land in the new
  ui-goal package); IconSparkle16 stays in ui-conversation chat.
- The web-slash-command-dispatch note documents the dropped interception and
is removed; the goal-bar note will be rewritten for the projection model.
- pnpm-lock.yaml taken from master (reinstall recomputes).

7fd2abd828 feat(host): directory-picker capability seam with dialog and browse backends
The web GUI's folder picking was hardwired to one interaction: a native
OS chooser compiled into the gateway, unusable for remote deployments
and swappable only by editing apiproxy source.

Directory picking becomes a three-package capability seam in
packages/host: ctx.directoryPicker returns a discriminated capability —
dialog (the extracted native chooser; host-display only) or browse
(new: one-level listing + child creation over Node stdlib, hidden flags
host-stamped, symlinks followed, ancestry crumbs; remote-capable). The
gateway injects the seam, advertises the kind via
host.describe.directoryPicker, serves host.listDirectory /
host.createDirectory under browse, and answers
directory-picker-unavailable across kinds. cordis.yml is the swap
point; apps/cli keeps dialog mounted, so behavior is unchanged until
the in-app browser PR flips the default. The connection fixture serves
a deterministic browse tree; WorkspacesService gains the browse calls

755ce21334 refactor: brand the command lifecycle pairing id as CommandId
commandId crosses three boundaries (session log, wire admission response,
client flow pairing), so per the branded-id rule it becomes
Branded<'CommandId'>, declared in a new pure @deepseek-ai/dsh-commands/brand
outlet (the dsh-llm/brand shape: type + constructor, no Context merges, so
wire and client programs can name it without loading the host plugin). The
event payloads, CommandExecution, and the executor mint carry the brand; the
wire schema gains commandIdSchema as the domain's single brand-cast point
(the approvals precedent); CommandNode and the fixture's fabrication cast
follow type-only.

6d2e5a7cd7 feat: command.execute returns the lifecycle pairing id ({matched, commandId?})
CommandService.execute now returns a CommandExecution — the normalized
result plus the commandId minted for its command/run/command/done records —
and the wire admission value carries commandId exactly when matched, so the
issuing client can correlate its RPC acknowledgment with the flow node the
lifecycle events produce. apiproxy api/schema/handler, the connection
fixture, and the TUI/plan/goal consumers follow the new shape.

4ddec0ba2f refactor: command.execute degrades to pure admission; composer notice channel retired
The wire response now carries only the matched bit — CommandExecuteResult
is deleted from the api, schema, and client mirrors (pre-release, no shim);
outcomes ride the durably logged command/run/command/done pair broadcast on
the mux stream and render as flow nodes. ui-command's runDetached→noticeFor
outcome routing is retired: admitted commands surface nothing through the
composer, while admission misses (matched:false, syntax feedback) and
transport failures keep their immediate notice. The connection fixture
mirrors the host: an admitted command appends the lifecycle pair to the
session log instead of returning result text.

ae0b0cc49b Fix lint findings and calibrate the seat trigger to the figma mock
- unused SessionId import and an unnecessary assertion in ui-model
- two over-length fake-api lines split
- trigger chrome calibrated against figma 313:14108's ToggleButton
  (13/20 medium secondary at 28px; chevron in label-caption = the mock's
#ADB2B8; the mock's leading icon is invisible there, so the seat has
none, and its 'High' effort text has no wire concept to render)

c132cbdb6a Adapt session model selection to the slash/input/session architecture
- host trio kept on the merged api-proxy: session.models (provider-grouped
advisory directory), session.selectModel (validated provider, advisory
  model), installAgentLlmTarget threaded through create/resume/ensureSession;
the gateway declares the llm inject it reads
- history no longer piggybacks modelTarget: the current target travels on
session.models alone (the /model popup is the sole consumer)
- new @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-model plugin: /model popupSelect over the
wire — options load the directory (group label in the detail column,
  provider-local failures listed inline), onSelect routes selectModel;
failures ride the popup shell's error/retry surface
- ModelSelector package, conversation.composer.control slot, and the
Session-side modelSelection state machine are removed: model selection
belongs to the /model popup; the named conversation.input.model seat
stays empty until a control-seat entry is designed for it

f6396f2573 style: fix lint across client packages
eslint --fix autofixes plus manual repairs: max-len line splits
(fake-api handlers, notifier/slots JSDoc, spec signatures), charAt over
non-null-asserted indexing in slash detect/menu cores, Array.from for
code-point capping, typeof assertions for unbound-method in specs,
generic getByRole for the send-button cast, effect disposer void-wrap in
command register, and dropped unused type imports.

ea8b1178cd feat(web): session list one-list, hover card, row menus, rename, manual ordering
Sidebar session list grows the figma 239-10458 feature set and the
workspace/session browsing region moves wholesale into ui-workspace:

- Group-by menu (WorkSpace / In one list): flat mode lists every session
top-level, strictly newest-first; the choice persists across reloads.
- Session rows get a 500ms hover detail card (title / relative time /
status line) and a ... menu (Rename / Fork session / Delete session,
visual-only for now); workspace headers get ... with Rename (wired) and
  Delete workspace (visual-only).
- workspace.rename RPC: trims, rejects duplicate titles on the create
chain (workspace-name-conflict), no-op on same title; modal dialog with
  client-side duplicate pre-check.
- workspace.insertSessionBefore RPC (DOM-insertBefore semantics, omitted
anchor appends): HTML5 drag reorder of root sessions inside a workspace
group; order truth stays host-side, the view refreshes from the
  response/changed frame.
- Activity pinning removed: the session/event touchSession chain is gone;
workspace accounts are manually owned (new sessions prepend, explicit
reordering only). Contracts and tests updated, api catalog regenerated.
- ui-sidebar reduced to the column shell (brand, fold state machine, New
Session, Settings) exposing one sidebar.workspaces hole with a two-fact
owner share {wide, expandSidebar}; ui-workspace owns the whole region
(header, search, grouped/flat lists, dialogs, drag) plus the picker via
a shared WorkspaceCreateFlow. The old sidebar.workspace picker slot and
  its deferral indirection are gone.
- ui-primitives: Menu gains label entries, danger rows, and
closeOnPointerLeave; new HoverCard (portaled, open-delay, disabled
guard). Hover card and row menu never coexist.

923535fa7a feat(gui): goal wire domain, client goal state, and docked goal bar
- apiproxy goals RPC domain (get/create/edit/pause/resume/complete/clear)
with CAS refs, zod schemas, and fetch client/handler wiring
- client runtime session goal state: live goal/change meta triggers a
coalesced refetch; mutations fold transport errors into RpcResult
- web GoalBar: docked strip above the composer (sparkle, phase label,
truncated objective, inline edit, clear; resume when paused); creation
  stays on the /goal command
- GoalBarActions in the ui-conversation contract layer; IconSparkle16
  moves to ui-primitives icons
