Review finding (#220): the guarded proxy only special-cased ctx.tools, so
mount code could reach an UNGUARDED context through ctx.root, ctx.extend(), or
a service instance's .ctx, then ctx.root.tools.register({…}) to bypass the
marker check and host-realm normalization — a raw vm-realm result would later
error a real agent turn at the session-log plainness check.
The sandbox ctx is now a whitelist façade, not a pass-through proxy: it exposes
only what a mount needs — tools.register (marker-guarded), on/once, provide, the
timer helpers, and injected services resolved through a guarded get — and denies
every framework-plumbing member (root, parent, fiber, reflect, registry, extend,
isolate, intercept, plugin, set, mixin, …) with a teaching error. Injected
services are wrapped so a method returning a Context is rejected on the way back
(the .ctx escape), closing the one indirect leak. There is no context-valued
member left to reach; cross-mount provide/inject is untouched (the plugin's own
inject and the fiber's pending/active gating are unchanged). ctx.plugin (child
plugins) and ctx.set are denied by design; ctx.effect is deferred (FIXME).
Adds tests/sandbox-context.spec.ts covering the escape class (root/extend/fiber/
plugin/set/… denied, the classic root.tools.register bypass, the .ctx escape,
read-only writes) plus the async-service and symbol/in-operator paths for 100%
coverage. RFC/README/tool-catalog/config-catalog updated; api-catalog.ts
regenerated (also picks up the codeRuntime service that entered on the master
merge and was left stale).
Everything outside the package and example that a new top-level group and a
new demo touch: GROUP_ORDER in gen-module-graph and gen-doc-graphs (plus the
tools-service consumers list, the APP_EXAMPLES entry, and the graph-atlas
label/mode rows), the knip e2e entries, the packages/README group row, the
AGENTS.md layout and demo lines, and the regenerated module-graph /
config-catalog / graph-atlas / capability-seams / composition artifacts.
AGENTS.md and examples/AGENTS.md word-budget ceilings rise to current+5%
(1802 / 653): the new group and demo rows are genuine additions to both docs,
not condensable restatements.
The RFC's deployment-policy decision is unchanged; state the current
mechanism in place — the per-tool budget is declared on ToolDefinition
(timeoutMs, set by the owning tool plugin from its config) and the
enforcer is zero-config, so a mistyped tool name is impossible.
Regenerate config-catalog (timeout-policy -> no-config; tool-web gains
fetch/searchTimeoutMs), the event graph (tools/change loses its
timeout-policy consumer), the ToolDefinition type-equiv block, and a
source-line drift in the cordis services catalog.
Two findings from the GitHub review bot on the ready PR:
The tsdown two-entry build emitted the shared bootstrap module as a
lib/bootstrap-*.js chunk imported by both bundles, which the package.json
files whitelist (deliberately exact) omitted — a packed install had
dangling imports. The package now runs two single-entry builds, so each
bundle inlines its own bootstrap copy and every shipped file is
self-contained.
prepareValue admitted any cloneable value whose BOUNDED inspect rendering
fit maxValueBytes, so a huge container with a compact rendering (a
50k-element array renders as '... N more items') crossed the port raw,
bypassing the cap on both sides. The cap now measures the value's real
cross-boundary size — exact bytes for strings, the structured-clone wire
size (v8.serialize) for everything else — and oversized containers cross
as their bounded rendering instead.
ds-review-bot flagged that a typo'd or stale config key (e.g. web_fech for
web_fetch) silently applies the timeout to nothing — the tools/execute lookup
just never matches. Mirror dsh-tool-subagent's lifecycle-driven handling of a
configured-but-unregistered provider: on every tools/change (and once at load),
logger.warn each configured name still absent from ctx.tools, warning each name
at most once so a late registration silences it. Not a load-time throw — the
tool set is dynamic (cordis.yml load order, HMR), so a real tool may register
later.
Declare inject = ['tools'] since the plugin now reads ctx.tools synchronously
in apply (previously only inside event callbacks). Regenerate config-catalog
(Requires: tools) and event-producer-consumer graph.
The host's message listener trusted the compile-time WorkerToHost shape on
traffic from a peer that runs model code: postMessage(null) threw in the
listener and crashed the host process; forged log/done messages bypassed
maxLogBytes/maxValueBytes (the worker-side LogBuffer and prepareValue cap
only honest flows); and the error-reply renegotiation re-echoed a forged
non-cloneable call id, throwing outside any catch.
Every inbound message now passes a runtime shape gate that validates and
REBUILDS it field by field (junk drops without a throw; call ids must be
numbers, so replies are always clone-plain; forged extra fields never ride
along). One host-side ledger bounds everything landing in logs — honest
port entries, forged ones, and stray pipe bytes — at the single documented
maxLogBytes, with the shared in-band truncation marker emitted host-side
when the ledger trips first; the completion value is re-capped host-side
through the same prepareValue (with exactly the truncation suffix as slack
so honest worker-capped values pass unchanged), and done error text is
bounded. Also folds the stray-capture budget into that shared ledger
(round-1 finding B: it was a second maxLogBytes on top of the documented
shared cap).
The shipped backend of the code-execution seam, per the Code Mode RFC's
worker-thread section: one fresh Node worker per run, executing the
model's TypeScript after a host-side type-strip (wrapped in an
async-function shell so top-level return/await parse, sliced back out
position-preserved), bindings bridged over the message port under
hostile-peer rules (own-property name lookup, at-most-once replies,
post-settlement drops, null-prototype namespaces), logs streamed eagerly
with an in-band truncation marker, and two independent budgets — measured
event-loop busy time (computeMs) plus a never-pausing wall ceiling
(maxWallMs) — funneling into worker.terminate(). env: {} and execArgv: []
keep the isolate hermetic; disposal aborts in-flight runs and awaits
worker exits.
The worker entry loads unbuilt via Node's native type stripping
(src/worker.ts, erasable-only) and ships built as a sibling tsdown bundle
(lib/worker.js); tests/built-lib.e2e.ts pins the built load path under
plain node and joins the built-artifact smoke gate. Unit suites cover the
bootstrap in-process (fake port) and the runtime over real workers,
per-file 100%.
The snapshot tier's machinery leaves examples/acp-agent/tests for
packages/support/acp-snapshot (@deepseek-ai/dsh-acp-snapshot), where the
coverage gate measures it and a second example can consume it instead of
forking it: harness.ts (runScenario, parameterized by an AgentUnderTest
{binScript, configPath, tsconfigPath} instead of module constants),
normalize.ts (moved verbatim), and suite.ts (defineAcpSnapshotSuite — the
per-scenario golden/log compares, record write-back, per-suite header pin
with its uniformity guard, and the fixture guard block, lifted from
acp.snapshot.ts). The example file collapses to its scenario table plus
one factory call; env reading (DSH_SNAPSHOT) stays at that edge.
The exactly-one-pin meta-test generalizes from the hardcoded text-turn
name to "exactly one per suite" — which scenario pins is the scenario
table's reviewable choice (per-suite pinning per the proposal RFC).
Extraction parity: pnpm run test:snapshot is 36 passed + fs-policy-reject
failing BEFORE AND AFTER (BSD-sed environment failure, reproduced at the
base commit in a clean worktree — the recorded golden's sed -i syntax is
GNU-only), with zero byte changes under examples/acp-agent/tests/snapshots/.
Coverage for the new src files lands in the next commit.
New group packages/code-runtime/ with the interface package
@deepseek-ai/dsh-code-runtime, per the Code Mode RFC: abstract CodeRuntime
service (run() resolves program failures as an error field, rejects only
for seam misuse), the CodeRunRequest/CodeBindingNamespace/CodeRunResult/
CodeLogEntry/CodeRunFailure vocabulary, and readonly language/isolation
backend descriptors. Registered in the tsconfig maps, packages/README,
architecture service map, and the doc-graph service-role classification;
catalogs regenerated.
The RFC's one forward path token to the worker package becomes an npm-name
mention until PR3 creates that directory (verify-package-paths is
drift-scoped: the now-existing group made the token checkable).
docs/architecture.md ceiling 1630 -> 1640: the doc gained a genuinely new
capability-service row; the row itself is already minimal.
Review follow-up (#196): a listed name with no registered tool was silently
ignored; misconfiguration must block work instead. The check lives in the
assembly — the earliest moment the registered tool set exists (tool plugins
register after the service constructs) and the only universal one (cordis has
no "all plugins loaded" event; registrations change at any time). assemble()
is now async so the throw surfaces as a rejection rather than a synchronous
escape from a Promise-returning method.
Blast radius, pinned by a loop-level test: the rejection reaches the turn's
outer catch — the turn closes balanced with an `error` reason, agent/error
mirrors it, no step opens, no request/header is logged, no request reaches
the adapter, and the agent returns to idle; every turn fails identically
until the config is fixed. A boot-time validation pass was considered and
rejected (recorded in the RFC). The general principle — misconfiguration
fails loud, never a silent skip — is added to AGENTS.md.
A three-dot rest entry reads as elision in a cordis.yml; the spelled-out
sentinel says what lands there. The literal now appears once in code (the
constant) and once in the value-pinning test; every other reference — the
forwarding tests included — imports TOOL_ORDER_REST, which adds the
dsh-system-prompt devDependency to the two app packages.
Review follow-up on #196.
Master's generated config catalog (#188, flattened paths #191) now records
plugin Configs; the nudge removal dropped structuredNudgeRetries from both
backends, so the regenerated catalog loses those rows.
Review findings on the config catalog:
The schema-subset check compared only top-level z.object keys against
top-level type members, so a nested loader-accepted key (agents[].id,
agentOptions.model, capabilities.*) missing from the declared type would
pass the gate unseen. The walk now collects nested object/array
compositions as key paths and resolves each against the declared config
type — through interfaces (heritage included), aliases, literals,
intersections, unions, arrays, indexed access, Partial-style wrappers, and
type references across package-local and workspace imports (re-export
chains included). The check stays presence-only and one-directional, and
only a definite miss is a violation: a path crossing a type the walk
cannot enumerate (an external package's) is skipped, never mis-reported.
The recursion guard applies at named declarations only — a structural
first child shares its span start with its parent, so a span-keyed guard
on every node mistakes ordinary descent for a cycle and silently turns
definite misses into unknowns.
The page and RFC framing also overstated the catalog as the exact
cordis.yml-settable surface: the paste is the plugin's full declared
config type, and a field the runtime schema deliberately excludes (the ACP
bridge's test-injected stream) is a runtime-only seam its own JSDoc marks.
Both now say so.
Five spec cases pin the new behavior: nested hidden key, workspace
intersection via star re-export, Partial wrapper, indexed-access
composition, and the external-type unknown path.
A directory holding exactly one file adds a path level for nothing;
cordis-catalog/ keeps its folder because it holds two sibling pages
(events.md + services.md), matching config-catalog.md which was born flat.
docs/tool-catalog/tools.md -> docs/tool-catalog.md and
docs/persistence-catalog/log-events.md -> docs/persistence-catalog.md; their
generators' OUT paths and in-page relative links drop one directory level,
and every citation repo-wide (docs, RFCs, package READMEs, generator
headers) is updated. graph-atlas.md, config-catalog.md, and the doc graphs
regenerate with the new paths.
scripts/gen-config-catalog.ts walks every packages/<group>/<pkg> entry with
the TypeScript compiler API and emits docs/config-catalog.md: per loadable
plugin, the verbatim config declaration (JSDoc included) its apply/constructor
receives in a ts config-catalog fence, the inject requirements, resolved links
for every referenced type (package-local types pasted transitively, other
plugins' config types as intra-page anchors, LINK_MAP names to
core-data-structures, workspace types to source), and terse classification
lists for config-free plugins, abstract seams, and libraries — classification
is total, so a new package cannot go undocumented.
The walk enforces per-field JSDoc prose on every pasted declaration and
statically cross-checks the schemastery schema (z.object keys, z.intersect
composition across packages): every schema-validated key must be a declared
member of the config type. One violation existed repo-wide — the agents[].id
field in dsh-agent-loop — fixed by adding its JSDoc (which shifts the
cordis-catalog services page's source pointers; regenerated).
verify-config-catalog (--check) joins doc-sync; doc-typecheck learns the
ts config-catalog fence; gen-cordis-catalog exports its JSDoc/pointer helpers
and LINK_MAP for reuse. Negative-path spec in
packages/core/agent-core/tests/gen-config-catalog.spec.ts mirrors the
gen-cordis-catalog spec. Decision record:
docs/rfc/implemented/process/2026-07-06-generated-config-catalog.md (includes
the deliberate acceptance of README ## Config overlap).
